How to Replace the Window Regulator on a Fiat 500

To repair the right window regulator on a Fiat 500, start by removing the door panel. Unscrew the various screws (both on the panel and at the bottom of the panel, as well as in the handle). Once the panel is off, move the soundproofing layer aside. Use some adhesive tape to hold the window up, then lower the mechanism by detaching the glass from the internal clip. Disconnect the motor connector, and using a 10 mm socket, remove the 3 nuts holding the window regulator mechanism in place and take out the mechanism. Now take the new mechanism, attach the window motor to the new mechanism by screwing in the 2 screws, insert the window regulator mechanism into the door (taking care with the glass) by positioning it and tightening the 3 nuts from the top one down. Connect the window motor connector, raise the mechanism until the clip attaches to the glass. Once the clip is secured, remove the tape from the glass and check if the glass goes up and down. Finally, reposition the soundproofing layer and reattach the door panel by screwing in the screws.
