How to Remove the Airbag and Steering Wheel from the Fiat Doblò

Model: Fiat Doblo 223, MK 1, Doblo 1 - Years 2000-2009

In this guide, you will learn how to remove both the airbag and the steering wheel from the Fiat Doblò. First, locate the two holes at the back of the steering wheel, near the steering column, insert a flathead screwdriver and disengage the retaining clips (as shown at the beginning of the video) until the centre part of the steering wheel, where the airbag is installed, is released. Now disconnect the electrical connectors for both the airbag and the horn. Once done, extract the entire airbag unit. Next, remove the washer and then unscrew the bolt (that secures the steering wheel to the steering column) using a socket wrench. Now, being careful not to damage the wiring, slide the steering wheel off the column. It is advisable to always disconnect the battery when performing work involving the electrical system to prevent damage and for safety.
