To replace the timing chain on a Fiat Punto Evo, open the bonnet to access the components in the engine bay. On the left side of the engine block, there is a side cover that needs to be removed, as the timing chain is located beneath it. By unscrewing the bolts securing the chain tensioner, you can reduce the tension on the chain and remove it from the sprockets.

This allows you to fit the new chain around the sprockets, then cover everything with the side panel.
