Replacement of Rear Tailgate Gas Struts

Model: Fiat Punto MK 2, 188 - Years 1999-2011

To replace the gas struts, remove the plastic covers near the fixing screws. For this operation, insert a screwdriver into the designated slot and lever carefully to avoid injury. Support the tailgate or get assistance, and forcefully remove the strut from the retaining pin. The strut is simply clipped into a hemisphere. Remove it from both sides. Fit the new strut by simply clipping both ends into the hemisphere. Refit the clips and covers both underneath and on the top. Test the proper operation by closing the tailgate.
