Start the process by unscrewing the knob at the top of the gear lever in your vehicle. After rotating the knob sufficiently around the lever, you can extract it. Be very careful of the spring present around the gear stick just below the knob.

This spring allows you to engage reverse gear. To screw on your new knob in the correct position for accurate gear indication, start from the position where you want the knob to end up.
