How to Reset the Inertia Switch on a Ford Focus

Before you begin, sit in the front seat of your Ford Focus. Start by inserting the key into the ignition switch and turning it as if you were starting the engine. Keep the key in the start position for 30 seconds, then turn everything off. After this, wait another 30 seconds with the instrument panel off. Once the 30 seconds have passed, remove the ignition key from the switch, then reinsert it. At this point, start the engine several times until it stays on, and you will have completed the reset.
