To replace the gear knob on a Ford Focus, you need to remove the old knob. Grip it with one hand and rotate it counterclockwise to unscrew the thread inside the knob. Be careful of the spring located between the inside of the knob and the gear lever. Once the old knob is removed, push the spring down and fit the new knob by simply screwing it on clockwise.
