How to Replace the Key Shell of a Ford Ka

In this video, you will see how to replace the key shell of a Ford Ka. To start, as shown at minute 2:15, unscrew the screw visible on the side of the shell after pressing the unlock button. Once unscrewed, you can remove the piece, which is the battery holder. Next, unscrew the screw located behind the Ford logo plate (which can be removed simply by prying at the side slots). At this point, you can open the shell with your hands or with the help of pliers. Once opened, keep the key and the board with the microchip. Now, as shown at minute 5:30, take the new shell: insert the key with the spring into the designated housing and turn to apply the correct tension. Then insert the electronic board. Now you can attach the keyring to the designated hook. At this point, close the shell, ensuring to tighten it properly. Reinsert the screw behind the logo plate housing. Also, reinsert the battery holder and screw it in. Finally, insert the plate with the Ford logo.
