After performing the standard oil and filter change on your first-generation Ford Fusion (2011), you may find that the warning light continues to stay on due to an electronic error. To resolve this issue, you will need to perform a manual reset. First, get inside the car and close all the doors securely. Next, insert the key and turn on the ignition. At this point, press the "Setup" button located in the lower left area of the steering wheel multiple times. Once you see the "Oil life" message on the display, press and hold the "Reset" button until the light resets.
