How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Ford Transit

Replacing the timing belt on a Ford Transit vehicle is a fairly simple task. First, open the bonnet and remove the front right wheel and the corresponding wheel arch liner.

Once removed, you can access the pulley more easily, but first, remove the engine block. Loosen the nut on the tensioner roller and then slide off the timing belt.

Insert the new belt and tighten the tensioner roller. Refit the previously removed parts, then reattach the wheel and the wheel arch liner.
