To replace the variator on a Gilera Nexus 500, loosen the bolts securing the cover located near the rear wheel. Once the cover is removed, take off the steel cover underneath by removing the fastening bolts.

You can now access the variator, which can be extracted by removing the central pin after loosening it with the appropriate spanner. Once this is removed, replace it, ensuring the belt is correctly positioned.

Finally, reassemble the cover and the casing.
