You can replace the rear brake pads on an Harley Davidson Softail by loosening the screws that secure the caliper to its housing: once the old caliper is released from the disc, it can be detached and the pin that holds the pads inside the caliper can be removed.

This way, the old pads can be completely removed from their seat to insert the new ones: these can now be secured again with the screws, then reattach the caliper to the disc with its screws and check that everything is functioning.
