To dismantle the engine on the Harley Davidson Sportster, first loosen the bolts securing the engine block within its housing, disconnecting all relevant connectors as well. Once the engine block is removed, you can loosen the additional bolts securing the side covers and the two cylinders. When these are removed, loosen the rings securing the pistons to the two conrods, replacing them with new spare parts. Once all necessary parts have been replaced, reinstall the engine block.
