Today, you will learn how to replace the small chain tensioner on a Honda CB 1000R. Purchase the preloaded tensioner with the appropriate pin and a suitable gasket. Using an 8mm spanner, unscrew the bolt that acts as a cap and release the spring pressing on the slider with a screwdriver (turn clockwise) while you unscrew the two small nuts, as shown in the video. Remove the old tensioner and insert the new one, finally removing the preload pin. To do this, simply extract it with a screwdriver, and the spring will seat against the slider. Ensure you fit the gasket correctly.
