In this video, we see how to remove the gear knob from the shift lever of a 2018 Honda Accord. First, we need to remove the metal ring at the top of the leather boot, from the plastic hooks protruding from under the knob, which are used to keep the two pieces connected. Once we have separated these two pieces, we need to twist the knob counterclockwise to unscrew it from its housing; this way we will have removed it from the lever, which actually has a decent threading. Remember this detail when looking for a replacement part online, or you may risk purchasing a non-threaded piece.
