How to Replace the External Handle on a Honda Civic mk7

This guide shows how to replace the external handle on a Honda Civic mk7. The first step is to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Unscrew the three fixing screws of the inner panel, two in the recess of the handle and one in the closure grip area. From the back of the handle, disconnect the lock actuator cable and the connector for the locking button. Using a trim removal tool, detach the switch support and disconnect the electrical connector. From the newly revealed space, unscrew two more screws. Applying slight force, detach the plastic cover of the mirror. At this point, use a trim tool to unclip the door panel clips. Remove the soundproofing sheet and keep it safe. Slide the glass out from the top of the door after unscrewing the two anchoring bolts. After detaching the white plastic clip, you can remove the door lock actuator pin and the two fixing nuts. After removing the lock cylinder, you can extract the lock. Reassemble by reversing the steps.
