How to replace the button on an automatic gear knob

Model: Honda Accord MK 7 - Years 2002-2007

As you know, every automatic gearbox has a button that prevents the driver from accidentally shifting into reverse or lower gears unless pressed for safety reasons. In this case, the button is no longer functioning, so start by removing the gear knob. Unscrew the two screws on the front side of the gear stick. Once the knob is removed, take off the lower part of the knob and then the cover on the button side. Remove any debris inside the knob. Refit the new spring by placing it over the corresponding pin, aligning it with the pin in the button. Reassemble the knob with the shell and the lower part you previously removed. Now, slide the knob onto the gear lever. This operation requires care as the pin protruding from the inside of the lever has a chamfered side. This side must face the button side of the knob. The delicate part is inserting the knob without moving the pin. Finally, re-screw the two screws to secure the knob. Car model: Honda Accord Year: 2003

How to Check the Oil Level on a Jeep Renegade?
