Removing the Air Conditioning Compressor on Hyundai Santa Fe

The first thing to do is to empty the circuit of refrigerant gas and ensure there is no pressure inside. Remove the 17 mm pulley from the alternator belt so that it is no longer tensioned and can be removed. While you are there, check the wear on all the pulleys and replace them if necessary. Disconnect the compressor connector and remove the two 10 mm bolts that secure the high and low pressure air conditioning circuits. Remove the four bolts that hold the compressor in place and take it out. Proceed in reverse for reassembly.
