When to Replace the Timing Belt on a Hyundai i10

Synchronise the movement of the crankshaft (pistons) with that of the camshaft (intake and exhaust valves): as you may have guessed, we are talking about the timing belt. Made of a plastic material, with a certain elasticity and resistance, it withstands continuous external stresses. Always under tension, the belt is also subjected to significant temperature fluctuations. Among the various reasons it needs to be in good condition, one is particularly important: its rupture almost always causes severe damage to the engine, such as breaking pistons, valves, or the crankshaft. In short: it is better to spend money now to maintain the belt than to pay a lot later for damage that has already occurred. For this model of vehicle, the manufacturer recommends replacing the belt every 75,000 miles.
