The failure of the tappet cover gasket with the consequent leakage of oil is a fairly frequent defect which can be easily solved; It is advisable to carry out this repair with a cold engine in order to manipulate the various elements without the risk of getting burned and above all to allow time for the oil to flow towards the sump; then free the cover from the vacuum sleeves and unscrew the fixing screws along the contour to be able to remove it; clean the seat of the gasket both under the cover and on the head, apply gasket putty only in correspondence with the edges of the external supports of the camshafts, insert the new gasket in the relevant groove under the cover and proceed backwards for installation .
