Replacement of the Rocker Cover Gasket

The failure of the rocker cover gasket, resulting in oil leakage, is a fairly common defect but easily resolved. It is advisable to carry out this repair with the engine cold to handle the various components without the risk of burns and to allow the oil to drain into the sump. First, remove the cover from the vacuum hoses and unscrew the fixing screws around the perimeter to remove it. Clean the gasket seating both under the cover and on the cylinder head, apply gasket sealant only at the corners of the external supports of the camshafts, insert the new gasket into the corresponding groove under the cover, and proceed in reverse for installation.
