Revamping the Side Panels of the Hyundai Accent

Model: Hyundai Accent MK 2, MC - Years 2005-2009

A simple way to refresh the slightly damaged side panels of your Hyundai Accent. First, remove the internal handles that are scratched and discoloured. You only need to remove the screw that holds them to the upholstery, and they will come off easily. Clean and degrease them thoroughly, then paint them in your preferred colour. Here, they are a nice satin grey. A couple of coats will be necessary. While they dry, you can work on the covering, which you will create in two colours. Using upholstery vinyl (available in all colours - glossy, matte, even graphite-like - and can be found on all major e-commerce platforms), shape the mask for the top part of the panel. Also shape the area where the handle will go, leaving a small border. Tuck the edges in with a spatula into the connections between the panels. Now you can refit the handle. Great job!
