How to repair the seat of an Iveco Stralis DIY

This task must be performed on the seat of the Iveco Stralis already removed from the cab and placed on a workbench: for safety, it is advisable to remove the complete seat and turn it upside down to have the entire lower structure clearly visible. Once the metal base is located, check the air tubes, fittings, and small pneumatic controls that adjust height, tilt, and lumbar support. Before disconnecting anything, memorise the routing of the coloured tubes and the position of the fittings to ensure correct reassembly. Proceed to repair the pneumatic system of the seat: replace damaged or hardened tubes with new ones of the same diameter, cut to size and pushed firmly into the quick fittings. Secure the connections with ties or clips to prevent them from coming loose when the seat operates under pressure. At the same time, check the side controls mounted on the plastic cover: repair any cracks or breaks, and ensure that the levers operating the air distributors move smoothly without sticking. Once the circuit is restored, reassemble the seat: reposition the side cover with the controls, organise the bundle of tubes along the frame securing it at the original anchor points, and tighten all the bolts of the structure. After reinstalling the seat in the Iveco Stralis cab, connect the air supply tube and test its operation: the seat should raise, lower, and adjust support according to the settings, indicating that the repair has been completed correctly.
