Replacing the Intercooler Hose

Model: Jaguar X-Type MK 1 - Years 2001-2009

To access the intercooler hose, you need to remove the intake duct located at the front. Remove the oil level dipstick and take off the plastic engine cover. Then, disconnect the mass air sensor connector and detach the duct that goes from the filter box to the turbo; also, unclip the air duct to easily access the hose that runs from the intercooler radiator to the EGR valve: the hose clamps are of the clip type, and if you do not have the proper tool to release them, you can always open them with pliers and then replace them with standard screw-type metal clamps. Once the old hose is removed, replace it with a new one; you may also opt for a silicone hose, which, in addition to reducing pressure losses due to hose expansion, will better withstand the acidity of the gases.
