How to change the oil and oil filter on the Jeep Grand Cherokee

To change the oil and replace the filter, you need to: open the bonnet and lift the car. First, unscrew the oil filler cap located on top of the cylinder head. Then locate the oil drain plug under the sump, use a 14 mm spanner to unscrew the plug, and place a container under the vehicle to collect the used oil. Wait a few minutes for all the oil to drain out and re-screw the plug.

After that, go back to the top of the vehicle and locate the oil filter, which is positioned on the left side of the engine. Use the appropriate tool to remove it and finish unscrewing it by hand.

Then take the new filter, replace the o-ring, lubricate the seal, and proceed to screw it back on. At this point, you can top up the oil using a funnel and then check the level with the dipstick.
