Where to Find the VIN and Engine Number on the Jeep Compass

In this video, we will see where to locate the legal chassis number (VIN) of the Jeep Compass. We know that the chassis number found at the bottom of the windscreen, on the plate, is not the legal chassis number: it is only a courtesy number used to move the vehicle until it has a registration plate. The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is located on the passenger side, under the mat, beneath the carpet. You will find a removable plastic rectangle, and underneath it, you will see the chassis number - composed of 17 alphanumeric digits. The engine number can be found on the engine block itself.
