As shown in this tutorial, changing the engine oil on the Kawasaki Versys 1000 is an extremely simple and quick operation. First, ensure the engine is cool enough, then position a container underneath the bike and, using a socket spanner, unscrew the drain bolt.

Wait for all the oil in the system to completely drain, remove the lower front cover, and unscrew the old filter. At this point, tighten the replacement, reassemble everything, and pour in the new oil through the designated hole.
