If the remote that opens and closes the doors on your Kia Picanto is no longer functioning, it is a sign that the battery inside is depleted and needs replacing. Start by removing the metal key and, using it, pry apart the two halves of the remote.

Inside the rear half, you will find the battery compartment which can be removed using a thin lever. Replace it with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the correct polarity is observed.

Reassemble the two halves and press until they click into place, then insert the emergency key back into its compartment.
