How to adjust the handbrake of a Kia Soul

In this video we see how to adjust the handbrake of a Kia Soul: we do not have to remove the central console, but only remove the plastic cover at the end of the console itself, where we can find the adjustment points of the handbrake. Removing it is easy because it is only pressure, and it will be enough to lever with a plastic spatula to remove the retaining clips. From here we will adjust the levels of the rear brakes by tightening it to shorten the cables. If the brake still does not work, we will have to adjust the cylinders with a 12 and a 13 key by removing the cable from the handbrake lever on the back of the disc brake, loosen the nuts on the cylinder lever and then adjust the lever, bringing it as close as possible to the stopping point (with a play of 2/3 mm) aligning the teeth of the lever with the mechanism. We reassemble everything and tighten the nuts. Do not overdo it with the cable tension; we could cause premature wear of the pads.
