How to Replace the Handbrake Cables on the Kia Joice Yourself

To replace the handbrake cables on the Kia Joice, prepare the car with the rear cabin area clear. Open the tailgate and the side doors, then remove the threshold plastics and small interior trims covering the floor, allowing you to lift the carpet. Once the metal floor is exposed, locate the handbrake cable routing along the bottom of the cabin and the points where they are held by clips and brackets. Carefully unclip the cables from the supports on the floor and free the cable terminals from the central handbrake connection. At this point, you can pull out the old cables following their path and insert the new cables in the same route, ensuring they pass through the original guides and reattach them to the fixing brackets to prevent movement or rubbing. Return the terminals to the lever location and ensure they are securely locked. After checking that the cables are well aligned and secure on the Kia Joice's floor, replace the carpet and remount all the trims and plastics removed earlier. Once completed, the handbrake will operate correctly with the new cables installed.
