How to Change the Engine Oil in a Kia Sportage

To replace the engine oil in a Kia Sportage, bring the engine to normal operating temperature, then turn it off and park the vehicle on a flat surface. Safely lift the car and place a container under the oil sump, unscrew the drain plug, and allow the used lubricant to fully drain. Once drained, reinstall the plug using a new gasket if required and tighten it correctly. Then pour the new oil into the filler neck, adhering to the specification and quantity indicated by the manufacturer. Start the engine for a few seconds to circulate the lubricant, turn it off, and wait a few minutes. Finally, check the level with the dipstick or via the electronic system, depending on the engine type, and top up if necessary to reach the correct level, also checking for any leaks around the drain plug.
