The following steps will show us how to perform the routine maintenance of changing the engine oil and oil filter on the Kia Sportage 2.4L. First, we lift the vehicle and start by unscrewing the oil drain plug found on the oil pan, letting it drain into a container for about ten minutes; then we remove the small plastic cover and unscrew the oil filter cartridge with the appropriate wrench, as shown in the video. At this point, we screw on and gently tighten the new oil filter by hand, finally topping up with the new engine oil.
