How to remove the oil cap from a Kia Sorento

In this video we can see how to remove the oil pan from a Kia Sorento. First, we lift the car and secure it on jack stands; we empty the oil into a large basin; then we will dispose of it at an authorized center. We remove the splash guard, and then remove the bolts of the oil pan, which are 10 mm; only some are 12 mm. A tip: use tape and a marker to mark the position of each bolt, to avoid confusion during reassembly. On this 2.0 (or 2.4) engine, the air conditioning compressor has a bracket attached to the oil pan, so we must remove it by removing the drive belt, and unscrewing the compressor mounting bolts, but without disconnecting the air conditioning lines, so there is no need to empty the gas. At this point we can detach the oil pan: avoid using a flat screwdriver, as it would damage the sealing surfaces. Clean the surfaces of the engine block and the oil pan from any traces of old silicone and oil; if necessary, use a specific solvent, or an angle grinder with a non-abrasive disc. The operation is not complicated, but it is long and laborious due to the meticulous cleaning required.
