How to Disable the ESC System on a Kia Sportage

Model: Kia Sportage QL, MK 4 - Years 2016-2022

To disable the ESC system on a Kia Sportage, turn on the instrument panel or start the engine. Then, locate the ESC OFF button, usually positioned on the dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel. Pressing the button once disables the traction control function, while holding it down for a few seconds also disables the electronic stability control, depending on the vehicle version. The corresponding warning light will illuminate on the instrument panel to confirm the system has been disabled. To reactivate the ESC, simply press the button again or turn off and restart the engine, which will automatically restore normal system operation in most versions.
