How does the automatic gearbox work on the Kia Sportage?

The automatic gearbox in vehicles can seem difficult to use for those accustomed to manual gear changes, as the differences are evident from the moment you start the engine. To start the Kia Sportage with an automatic gearbox, insert the key into the ignition switch, press the brake pedal, and turn the key. Next, press the vehicle's start button. When the vehicle is started, the gearbox defaults to P, which is park. This mode prevents the vehicle from starting automatically; to move the car, press the grey button that signifies engaging the automatic gearbox. Then, shift the gear lever to D to drive. If you need to reverse, shift the gear lever to R. For hill starts or driving uphill, you can also shift the gearbox into semi-automatic mode by moving it to the left.
