In this video tutorial we can see how to replace the gear oil on Kia Sportage. Lift the bonnet and secure it with the special rod. Jack up the car with a hydraulic jack and put jack stands to keep the car from falling. Place a container under the gearbox to collect the used oil, unscrew the oil drain plug located near the left wheel; use a 17 wrench and wait 10 minutes for all the oil to drain into the pan, lower the car to help the oil flow out. When you remove the gear oil cap, it is made of magnet inside and if there are any metal pieces it means that the gearbox does not work well. Once all the oil has flowed out, screw the cap with the new gasket, tightening just enough. Top up the new oil with additive. (Check the type of oil required for the change in the use and maintenance booklet).
