In this brief video, you will see step-by-step instructions for disassembling and replacing the battery of the remote key on the first series Kia Soul, as well as on the Rio. First, take your remote and use something thin to pry open the sides to remove the battery cover found on the back; then access the battery compartment, where you will remove the old battery.

Replace it with a new one of the correct type (in this case, a CR 2032 3V), inserting it in the correct orientation and reassembling everything as shown in the video.
