This guide shows how to adjust the handbrake lever on the Kia Sorento Mk1. The operation involves tightening or loosening the adjustment nut located under the fabric cover of the handbrake lever. First, engage the handbrake, then lift the finishing fabric of the lever by moving the rear part away from the centre console. At this point, using a 10 mm spanner on the bolt, lower the lever and make the necessary adjustment. If the lever has too much travel, tighten the nut. Once the adjustment is complete, reposition the finishing fabric.
