How to Replace the Reversing Switch on a Kia Sportage

In this video tutorial, see how to replace the reversing switch on a Kia Sportage. The first step is to purchase a new reversing switch from an authorised car parts dealer. Get into the vehicle, turn off the engine, and engage the handbrake; lift the bonnet and secure it with the prop rod. Now, remove the battery from the engine bay by first loosening the negative terminal and then the positive terminal with a 10 mm spanner. Remove the terminals and tuck them away to prevent contact. Remove the 12 mm bolt securing the battery and take the battery out of the engine bay. Next, disassemble the filter housing and remove it from its position by unclipping the securing clips and unscrewing the bolts. Once the filter housing is removed, take out the battery tray by unscrewing the 12 mm bolts. After removing the battery tray, you will see the reversing light switch; disconnect the plug, unscrew it with a 24 mm socket and extension, and then replace it with the new one. Reassemble all parts in reverse order.
