How to Modify the Rear Suspension of a Kia Sportage

If you want to raise and, in some ways, reinforce the rear suspension, you can purchase aftermarket rubber spacers to fit between the coils of the rear suspension spring. Lift the vehicle to allow the coils to extend and widen, spray soapy water on both the spring and the spacer to help it slide better over the coils. Once positioned, secure the spacer with cable ties. After lowering the vehicle, it will remain raised, allowing you to increase the load capacity without lowering the vehicle too much.
