In the KIA Carens, it may happen that the tailgate gets stuck, for example due to a problem with the lock actuator or the related control module. In this case, we can perform an emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial. First, we open the left rear door, then we operate the indicated lever and lower the seat back. Next, we go inside the trunk, locate the small door indicated, and remove it. At this point, we can manually operate the actuator and open the tailgate.
