To change the engine oil on your KTM 500 EXC, start by placing the bike in a stable position, preferably on a stand, ensuring it is completely vertical. Next, warm the engine slightly by running it for a few minutes so that the oil becomes more fluid and drains easily.

Once warmed, turn off the bike and locate the drain plug under the engine. Prepare a container to collect the used oil and carefully unscrew the drain plug, allowing all the oil to flow out completely.

When the oil has fully drained, replace the drain plug, ensuring it is securely fastened. Then, locate the oil filler cap and fill with the correct amount of new oil, checking the quantity specified in the bike's manual.

Finally, check the levels with the dipstick to ensure they are adequate before starting the bike again.
