As shown in this tutorial, replacing the rear brake pads on the KTM EXC 500 is an extremely simple and quick task. First, position yourself in front of the rear wheel, then grasp the entire caliper and push it firmly towards the inside of the wheel to compress the piston.

Next, extract the two indicated pins using a pair of pliers, remove both old pads, and position the replacement pads. Once done, reinsert all the fixing pins and test the brake's correct operation.
