To replace the air filter on the KTM Super Duke 1290 R, loosen the bolts securing the seat so it can be completely removed. After removing the seat, you will have access to the screws holding the fuel tank at the front of the bike. The tank must be removed from its housing by disconnecting the connectors and loosening the securing screws. Once the tank is completely removed, you will have access to the filter box underneath. Open it by unscrewing the bolts that secure the cover, allowing you to pull out the filter inside and replace it with a new one.
