To replace the variator on the Kymco AK 550, loosen the screws securing the panel near the footrest and the side close to the exhaust. Once this panel is removed, you will be able to locate the transmission cover underneath. This needs to be opened by unscrewing the fastening screws; this way, the clutch and variator inside can be removed by unscrewing the nut that secures their central pin. At this point, you can insert the new variator, reassembling all the removed parts.
