Performing a complete service on a Kymco Downtown 300i is a very simple task that you can do independently; just follow our tips and video guide. The first thing to do is purchase Castrol EDGE 5W-40 oil, an oil filter, and an air filter from a spare parts shop or online. Start the maintenance by replacing the oil and the filter. Remove the oil from the sump; to do this, position the scooter on level ground and remove the two nuts securing it, located at the bottom. When the oil has finished draining, remove the oil filter located right next to the sump. After removing the filter, clean any residues and install a new filter. Refit the sump and filter, then top up the oil. To do this, you will need to remove the panel next to the fuel tank and insert the oil. Next, unscrew the screws securing the air filter panel, remove it, and install a new filter, as shown in the video. Check the drive belt and lubricate it with oil if necessary. Check the tyre pressure and ensure the lights are functioning. Add a specific cleaning product to the fuel tank and also check the condition of the battery.
