Replacing the Battery on the Kymco AK 550

Today’s instructions will show you how to remove and replace the battery on the Kymco AK 550 scooter by following these simple steps. First, place the scooter on its centre stand and start by removing the front plastic fairing by unscrewing the fixing screws.

You will find the battery compartment at the rear, as shown in the video. Now, disconnect both battery terminals (positive and negative) to remove the battery; then install the new battery of the correct type and amperage, finally reattaching the fairing!
