How to Install a Reversing Camera on a Lancia Ypsilon MK2

To install a reversing camera on a Lancia Y (second series), after removing the original radio, run the cable from the dashboard to the boot. Remove the glove compartment (three screws on top and three on the bottom), and using an electrician's probe, feed the cable down to the scuff plate, which needs to be removed to run the wire along existing channels. From the boot, run the cable up along the tailgate seal, passing through the grommet to enter the tailgate itself. The camera (available on Amazon with code B0F8QDGCR2 for £34.99 with free delivery for Prime customers) should be mounted above the number plate, removing the black plastic and bolts. For power, connect the red wire to the positive of the reversing light (white wire) and the black to the negative (black wire), using crimp connectors. If the video cable (RCA) is too short, extend it with an additional cable and a female-to-female adapter. Once everything is connected, engaging reverse will automatically switch the radio to the camera view; disengaging it will return to normal mode.
