How to Remove the Fuel Tank from the Land Rover Defender 90

Model: Land Rover Defender MK 5 - Years 1983-1990

To replace the fuel tank on the Land Rover Defender 90, access the underside of the vehicle near the left rear wheel. Here, near the axle, you will find the various supports that secure the tank to its housing: to remove it, loosen all the bolts that hold these supports. Once the bolts are removed, you can slide the tank out from the underside of the vehicle. After the tank is removed, you can install a new one by securing it with the appropriate support bolts.

While driving, if you notice the tyre pressure warning light coming on, first check the actual inflation pressure of the tyres and, if necessary, restore the pressures recommended by the manufacturer. After restoring the correct pressures, you need to reset the warning light that has illuminated on the instrument cluster. To do this, locate the reset button on the lower central console.
