Operation: How to reset the service light on Land Rover Freelander

To carry out the manual service reset procedure, first get into your car and put the handbrake to work in greater safety. Before performing the service reset you must carry out the maintenance checks as foreseen by the manufacturer. To reset, the "A" button is used, on the right under the speedometer; or "B" on the direction indicator depending on the one present. If the maintenance indicator has not exceeded 20% of the mileage, it cannot be reset manually but only with the diagnostic tool. 1) Close all the doors of the vehicle; 2) do not press the brake and clutch pedals; 3)Insert the starter remote control into the appropriate housing; 4) press and hold button A or B; 5) Press and hold the start button to turn on the instrument panel; 6) within 10 seconds release button A or B. 7) The message DIStd or DATE will appear on the instrument panel depending on the message to be reset; 8) press button A or B for at least 5 seconds, at this point the message RESET will be displayed; 9) the message END or DATE will then be displayed, resetting the DATE light; 10) in case of DATE message, press and hold down button A or B within 5 seconds. 11) The message RESET will appear on the display for 5 seconds. Exit the restore functions. 12) The END message indicates the end of programming; press the starter button to turn off the instrument cluster.
