To replace the battery in the key fob of a Lexus RX, slide out the emergency key from the top of the device to leverage inside its housing. This will give you access to the internal components: specifically, detach the battery from the coding chip located inside the fob. Now, insert a new battery and close the fob by rejoining the two halves and inserting the emergency key back into its housing from the top.
